We seek to partner with our clients by aligning our interests through co-investment and promoting an open dialogue. Our client relations team serve as the day-to-day liaison between our clients and our research team, and they are deeply knowledgeable and well-versed in the history and investment approach of the firm, as well as current and past portfolio investments. We aim to be transparent in our communication and are available as needed to support our clients’ ongoing needs.
Our experienced corporate officers ensure that the internal operations of Southeastern effectively support our clients and our investment research and that regulatory and compliance matters are handled with the highest degree of integrity.
The Executive Committee represents three actively engaged generations of firm leadership with global perspectives. In his role as CEO, Ross Glotzbach is supported by the Executive Committee and by our team of proven and seasoned senior department heads who oversee legal, compliance, risk management and client relations and communications. The Executive Committee works with these department heads to coordinate the firm’s management functions, to set the strategy and goals for the firm and to ensure we always stick to the guiding principles that define our unique culture.
Our IT team is committed to delivering the highest levels of availability and data security. All aspects of technology are a critical part of our ability to execute on our investing, trading and operational strategies. Our critical systems environment is a hybrid of cloud-based and on-premise solutions. Cybersecurity continues to be one of our largest areas of focus and is constantly evaluated and monitored by our team. Our cybersecurity strategy consists of a multifaceted approach that emphasizes security best practices to protect the firm’s data and computing environment.
We operate as a single, integrated, worldwide research team with all analysts reviewing and challenging one another’s work.
We bring to bear all the team’s collective investing experience, industry knowledge and network of local contacts across the globe before committing our clients’ and our own capital. The full global team is involved throughout the investment process. Portfolio managers for each strategy make the final investment decisions.
An intent focus on best execution informs all our decisions, including broker selection, and drives all our trades. As global markets have evolved to smaller average-trade sizes, higher volumes, venue fragmentation and a more rapid trading dynamic over the past several years, our trading department has focused on maintaining a world-class competency in market microstructure, routing protocols and electronic algorithmic trading. Southeastern is a recognized thought leader on the topic of market structure, and our traders are members of the IEX Trading Advisory Committee and Buyside Equity Traders Roundtable.
